Eliane Brum
Eliane Brum is a Brazilian journalist, writer, and documentary filmmaker. In two decades of reporting, she has won more than forty national and international awards in journalism, among them the Premio Rey de España and the Inter American Associated Press Award. In 2008, she received the United Nations Special Press Trophy. In the field of documentary film, she was the co-director and co-writer of Uma história severina (Severina’s Story), winner of 17 national and international awards. She currently works as a freelance journalist. She writes a regular column for El País. She also has her own personal project of investigating the so-called “new Brazilian middle class” and the agricultura lextractive communities from the Amazon rainforest. She has published five nonfiction books and the novel One Two.
