The Other Hundred Entrepreneurs 100 Winners Announced

Hong Kong, 11 September 2014 – The Other Hundred Entrepreneurs eschews conventional success stories about tech billionaires and elite MBAs to feature 100 stories about everyday people who have started businesses, big and small, and taken control of their lives. Together, these portraits from all over the world present a more representative picture of entrepreneurship than the one we get from the covers of Forbes, Fortune or SUCCESS Magazine.

The 100 winning stories were chosen from the pool of close to 9,000 images from 130 countries we received during our worldwide open call for submissions. An international panel of judges then selected the 100 entries that best represented the spectrum of activities that people all over the world engage in. The winning stories come from 95 different countries and showcase 91 different types of business. Also included in the book are half a dozen essays from acclaimed authors such as Tash Aw and Eliane Brum. The book will be published in December of this year by Oneworld Publications in London and will be available in bookstores worldwide and on Amazon.

The previous edition of The Other Hundred was a response to rich lists like the Forbes 100 and Bloomberg Billionaire’s List and has been featured in over 120 media outlets including outlets including CNN, BBC, NHK, The Guardian, Al-Jazeera, Forbes, Huffington Post and others. The project has also been exhibited in Hong Kong and Singapore, with upcoming exhibitions in world cities including Dubai and New York.

The Other Hundred is a not-for-profit project initiated by The Global Institute for Tomorrow and supported by the sponsors listed below.
